Scale: 1 / 16
This is a large-scale static kit that builds a "Late" Tiger. It provides interior detail in all compartments. Its tracks are workable, with three pieces per link including metal pins, and hollow guide horns.
The kit is intended to build the final version of "Late" Tiger, i.e. it has "Pilze" crane sockets on the turret roof. There are no alternative parts to make Tigers of earlier vintage.
Both of the roof panels above the crew compartments are transparent, allowing you to see the interior. But Trumpeter have taken an unusual approach here. Some model kits offer alternative panels, opaque or transparent, with the transparent one having almost no surface detail. Trumpeter provide only transparent panels, with all of the surface detail and locator holes that opaque panels would have. You can fully paint them if desired; but if you leave them transparent, the locator holes (or the parts you glue to them) will partially obscure the view.
On the exterior, this kit is less accurate than current 1/35 Tiger kits. A few features of "Early" Tigers have been built into it by mistake. As for the interior, it seems to be conceptually based on Rye Field's 1/35 Late Tiger kit. Unfortunately that kit's interior has many errors, most of which are repeated here, and augmented by new errors.
I am currently listing problems with this kit and suggesting solutions when I can see them.
