Trumpeter's kit provides the Fu 5 radio set in the Tiger's front hull. The receiver and transmitter have good, accurate surface detail. The cross-connection cables between them are provided.
The kit gives us a third radio device in the rack below them. I don't yet know if this part can be omitted. If so, it would be appropriate to leave it unused, because most Tigers carried only the two devices that I named. Company leaders and perhaps platoon leaders might have a second receiver, and that's why the rack has the extra space.
In any case, the kit's third radio device has a problem. Its cover is attached; but when you look at how the cover is recessed (as I point out), you will see that the handles and knobs of these radios cannot possibly fit behind that cover.
This is one of the real devices. Its cover is not recessed: instead it protrudes out beyond the case, and so the handle can fit behind it.
