Description
Tiger 131 of the 501 battalion (no relation to the Tiger in Bovington Museum) fought with the 1st Company in operations Eilbote and Ochsenkopf among others. It may have led the final charge at Sidi N'sir. After Ochsenkopf it was renumbered as 731, but its painted name 'Norbert' remained. On 19 April 1943, near the end of the Tunisian campaign, it was listed as being still in service. Photographs show Allied troops finding it with 8 kill rings painted on the gun.
