The box-art of the 'Tiger I Early Production'

The kit's subject

This is one of three "early" Tiger kits already released by Takom, and is the most general one. It is supposed to represent a variety of "early" Tigers.

There are enough optional parts to build an Early Tiger constructed in the period January to May 1943. There is a metal gun barrel, metal wire for cables, and photo-etch for the engine grilles and fine parts. Eight decal schemes are included, three of them representing the same Tiger at different times, therefore six distinct Tigers are covered.

Problems

The instruction guide does not state which parts belong to which decal subject. The illustrations of the paint schemes can be used as guides here, but there are some errors in them. The instructions, parts and decals have a few other mistakes unrelated to the choice of decals.

My ongoing review and comments;
