This kit has decals for a Tiger marked "231". It belonged to the 505th heavy tank battalion.
We have a few photographs of the real "231", taken in winter. It is painted with a solid whitewash, somewhat dirty or faded at the rear.
"231" has a custom-built extension added to its turret bin. We do not have photographs of this box' top surface, therefore any model kit, including this one, must be speculative there.
Choice of optional parts
The correct sprocket wheel for this Tiger is part E1, although it is not mentioned in the assembly guide.
This Tiger had the vertical adapter tool (part D2-4).
Because the photographs were taken in winter, we don't see Tiger "231" with the Feifel system installed, but the large V-duct was undoubtedly present on the engine hatch.
Tiger "231" had the standard side skirts with end panels.
This Tiger had custom storage brackets added to its upper front wall. This kit provides those parts, with the front wall being part U2-41. Photos show this crew storing Panzer III track links and S-hooks in the brackets; Takom provide the track links only.
Tiger "231" had spare tracks held by a bar across the lower nose. Part U2-1 is best for this. It also had the standard spare track brackets on its turret.
The correct engine hatch for this Tiger is part C2-9. The correct outlet grilles are H-20 through H-23, although the instructions do not mention them.
It is a surprising fact that Tiger "231" did not have a turret periscope (parts L2-2, E2-61).
The mantlet part to use is T2-15.
In every photograph of Tiger "231", all of the outermost road wheels are installed. The crew don't seem to have had the common habit of removing the front wheel.
Like many Tigers in the 505 battalion, this one has a cupola hatch that lies down almost flat, because the crew have cut the support arm (part E2-47).
Tiger "231" did not have the turret smoke launcher system (parts R2-13, R2-14 etc.). This kit's turret roof has faint outlines molded on to it, marking the place of the brackets; you should erase those lines.
The correct rear mudflaps for Tiger "212" are parts H11 and H12, although they are not mentioned in the assembly guide.

There is an error on the rear wall (part C2-12). The kit's part has two rectangular frames molded on it; one of them is highlit in this photo. But the real Tiger "231" did not have them. You could file off these two features to improve your model's accuracy, but that would leave you the challenge of recreating the hinges.
