The size of the Tiger's gun led to its turret overhanging at the front. A curved steel band filled the gap beneath the overhang.
The "old" and "new" turrets had different versions of this band. In the "old" turret (in "early" Tigers), the band had a carefully machined round corner at the top, followed by a step where welding was carried out.
The profile of this steel band was visible where it intersected the turret sides; there was no "blending". Note the curve and the flat step above it.
The turret in this Takom kit doesn't have the step, rather it draws a slanted line over the area. The weld line under the chin here, is about twice the width of the real one.
