Panzers were identified by numbers, usually painted on their turrets. When their unit was reorganised, which could happen a few times per year, the tanks usually had their numbers changed. This kit from Takom includes three sets of decals for a single Tiger, representing the tank at different times in 1943. There was a name painted on this Tiger; "Tiki".

This Tiger was painted white when it was first deployed. Its number then was "812" and it had no name. Takom provide three decals reading "812", but two of them are not very well drawn; the ones for the turret sides. The digit for the turret bin is realistic.

Tiger 812

This photo shows the real Tiger "812". You could better represent these digits by cutting up some other decals on this sheet that read "821".

This Tiger was briefly numbered "833" in the Spring of 1943. It was painted in a camouflage scheme by then, and the name "Tiki" was written on it in three places. Unfortunately Takom provide only two "Tiki" decals.

The tank's number was then changed to "S34", without any change to the camouflage paint or the names. As "S34" it participated in the battle of Kursk.
