Description
A few Tigers of the 2nd company had their tactical numbers painted on the turret bin as well as the turret sides. Here is Tiger 813, formerly 213, being recovered from Hunt's Gap. This Tiger is also unusual in having two ammunition boxes, obtained from the Flak unit, attached to the turret bin for storage. Ahead of the towing tractors we can see Tiger 841 being repaired.
Three months earlier, the American director John Ford had filmed a few seconds of colour footage, just 500 meters ahead of where the Tiger stands. Although not relevant to this event, it is interesting because it shows Hunt's Gap in colour.
