Description
On 18 January 1943, Operation Eilbote was launched. After encountering artillery fire on the approach road, Tiger 121 pauses on a hill as it approaches Djebel Solbia. The terrain obliged the heavy Panzers to stay on the road while fighting in these hills, which made the French defences all the more effective.
The next known photo of the mission shows Tiger 11 approaching Djebel Solbia.
