Description
After the failure of the Hermann Goering Panzer Division's assault on the American beachheads, it was decided to defend the Catania Plain. During the retreat Lt. Heim's Tiger, number 211, broke down near Caltagirone and could not be recovered. The Germans hurriedly demolished it. Several photos of the wreck allow the location to be determined.
