Information about a Tiger chassis

Description

This was one of the first two Tigers delivered to s.Pz.Abt.501 on 30 August 1942. Consequently we would expect to find it in the 1st company, but it's in the 2nd. It must be the Tiger that was sent back to the factory for extended repairs to its transmission. As a result, it had a unique mix of features. This unlucky tank was knocked out by British guns during the 'Eilbote 2' mission on 31 January 1943. Its wreck was closely studied by British experts.
