Description

This Tiger is one of several captured by the Russians when they overran an outdoor repair yard in 1944. Its tactical number "241" is painted in the style of Summer 1943, but the Tiger itself is older, dating back almost to 1942. It has the 2nd type of side skirts.

As one of the first Tigers issued to the 503, it must have had its original number painted in white. And in this photo we can actually see that the third digit was "3". The unusual position of the Balkenkreuz confirms that this is the former Tiger 243. Its original Panzer III type storage bin has been replaced by a standard Tiger bin.
