Description
The tactical number of this Tiger of "Das Reich" is difficult to read, but paint marks prove that both the hull and the turret are the same ones seen in a photo of Tiger "S22". The front roadwheel is light in colour; perhaps it is a replacement wheel taken from the wreck of Tiger "831" or Tiger "842", still in its winter whitewash.
The book "Tigers in Combat II" states that this Tiger was handed over recently to "Das Reich" from LAH. But photographs prove that "S22" is the former "811" that was with "Das Reich" since January.
