Description
An Allied soldier peers into a Pz.4 at the site of the Hunt's Gap battle. This tank, numbered "852", was exploded by the Germans on their retreat from the battlefield; the Allied bombardment did not allow them to recover it. They left Panzer "852" upright, but later it was overturned by American engineers, as we can see in a photo of the Hunt's Gap battlefield. This road was a main artery for the final Allied thrust to capture Tunis and it was important to clear debris from it.
