Description
Tiger 712 waits in a vehicle park. There is an ammunition box fixed to the turret bin as convenient storage. The side skirts are bent and a shipping label has been painted above them for its eventual voyage to the USA. The central "1" digit on its turret is a reminder of this tank's glory days when it was number "21", commanding the 2nd company of s.Pz.Abt.501. Another photo of Tiger 712 shows its other side.
The exact location of the Tiger is difficult to pin down from photos, but by enhancing this photo we can see a pattern of contrasting fields on hills behind the Sherman tank, corresponding to the view from a specific area in the Mateur depot. This and several other cues allow us to locate the Tiger approximately.
