Description

Tiger 712 has been captured by the Allies and is in a depot near Mateur, awaiting its voyage to America. At this stage it has lost its exhaust shields, Feifels, rear mudguards and turret extraction fan. There are four tool holder clasps on the rear hull side, placed there by this unit. At the front, spare tracks protrude above the hull roof. This photo is the only proof that 712's turret bin bore no numerals.

A Sherman in the distance is one of several other vehicles in this depot. Between these two tanks, 12km away, we can glimpse one of the hills northeast of Mateur. This is one of several clues that allow us to say where this Tiger is located.
