Description
Tiger "211" of s.Pz.Abt.504 is travelling by rail. A copy of this photo was annotated to say that we're in Palermo. Although this location has not been verified, we know that many German vehicles crossed the Mediterranean in one or more large cargo ships, embarking in Palermo after crossing the strait from mainland Italy. But this Tiger - and the rest of the 504's second company - never did voyage to Tunisia. They remained in Sicily and soon had to defend the island from an Allied landing.
