Description
This Tiger was exploded by the Germans in Acate, Sicily. Its upper parts are blackened by soot. The tyres are apparently all consumed by the fire. The floor of the turret lies on the hull roof, implying that the turret flew into the air with the force of the explosion and fell into this position. It is interesting that the basket for 3 jerrycans is still attached to the turret floor, because some Tiger crews would remove it to make space. There are several other photos of the Acate Tiger.
