Description
Since it has a Roman numeral "I" as its identifier, this should be a Befehlstiger. The cylindrical antenna storage tube on its side is typical of the first few Befehlstiger, built before this tube was given a place on the rear wall. This particular tank has another distinguishing feature; a frame on its back, apparently holding two jerrycans, takes the place of its Feifel air filter. In the distance is a Fi.156 reconnaissance and liaison aircraft, whose STOL capabilities made it the best choice for liasing with ground forces in situ. The tank, its configuration and the personnel all obviously match another photo of Befehlstiger "I".
