Description
A truck-mounted crane is lifting a cover panel from the engine deck of Tiger "300". The panel is a large grating with an air intake duct fixed below it. To its right, the outlet grating on this side is partially open, hooked to the solid radiator cover plate which is normally bolted to the hull but now sits upright. We can conclude that the mechanics are working on the radiator. The Tiger's design left its radiators vulnerable to shrapnel from air bursts, because downward-travelling shards could bounce off the duct's slanted surface into the radiator.
This Tiger has the same version and features as Tiger "300" as in another photo. In particular, the cap is missing from the left-hand exhaust stack, there is a strap added above the toolbox for holding stores on the rear wall, and the rearmost side skirt has its end panel bent and folded in an unusual way.
