Description

This is a 1942-model Tiger, with the 2nd type of side skirts. The style of its spare track bars, and the slanted hull front edges with rounded corners, both suggest ownership by s.Pz.Abt.503. We can see that the turret number begins with "31", which confirms the unit.

The rain shield welded to the mantlet, and a tiny impact mark by the driver's visor, are visible in several other photos. But here we can see additional distinguishing marks of this Tiger. The jask is stored on top of the engine deck, at the rear left corner; there is a jerrycan stored somehow on the rear wall; and the rear side skirt is folded upward. All of these details match a photo of Tiger 314.
