Description

The number "133" can be discerned on this Tiger's turret. It's easy to match up the hull to an earlier photo of a Tiger "133". The Balkenkreuz is at the same height, and there are four patches of darker paint on the hull wall ahead of it. The side skirts are dislodged in the same way.

It's more difficult to match up the turret. But the white outline of the digits is not evenly painted; some portions of it are thicker and brighter. These match up in both of these photos and another one showing Tiger "133". But when we compare two other photos of Tiger "133" at the same times and places, we can see that the mantlets do not match. Only one of them has a rain shield, and the internal corners of the raised area are very different.

We can conclude that this photo shows Tiger "133" late in its life, when its mantlet and (probably) gun have been replaced.
