Tiger "802"

This is a staff Tiger of "Das Reich", number "802". The date is said to be May 1, 1943. This Tiger was originally numbered "801" but, when the tanks were renumbered in mid April 1943, the staff Tigers were bumped up by 1.

We can't see enough detail in this photo to prove that this Tiger is the former "801", but some details of paint on its hull and turret prove that it is the later "S02" which is clearly the same Tiger as the old "801" from the winter.
