Thumbnail image: Tiger 812 is named "TIKI"

Description

This is Tiger "812" of 8th company, "Das Reich" in the spring of 1943. The company's Tigers have been painted in camouflage colours since the winter, when they were whitewashed. The camouflage patterns differ from tank to tank, with this Tiger in particular having an unusual scheme where the lightest colour was applied last. The crew have added a name, "Tiki", to their vehicle. A spare roadwheel lies on the rear deck.

We can be sure that this Tiger was not renumbered when it was repainted, because certain of its features match the whitewashed Tiger "812", such as the damaged front skirting.
