Description
This is Tiger "831" of Das Reich in the spring of 1943. The smoke launcher system is gone, with its trigger wire still dangling, suggesting battle damage rather than deliberate removal. We can identify this tank as the former "811" for several reasons, including the angle of the randomly placed holes in the trunnion; compare to this photo of Tiger "811".
