Thumbnail image: Mining the line at Kzar Mezouar

Description

On 27th February 1943, when Kampfgruppe Lang was moving along the Hunt's Gap valley from Sidi N'sir toward Beja, the British were preparing a defensive line near Kzar Mezouar. This newsreel clip was made on that day and it shows British soldiers burying explosives beside the railway line 700m east of the railway station. Presumably they intended to damage the line if the Germans broke through.

Djebel Munchar is visible at top left of the image.
