Description
Tiger 312, a very expensive piece of critically needed military hardware, is lost thanks to a driver's error. It was just after dark on 14 September 1944 and a battle group from the 3rd company of s.Pz.Abt. 504 were driving along a ridge above Pian delle Pieve when this Tiger failed to take a sharp, badly marked corner. Unfortunately, that particular corner was immediately followed by a deep ravine. The vehicle could not be recovered. For good measure, the following Tiger made the same mistake.
