Description
The 2nd company of s.Pz.Abt.501 tried to attack Robaa in "Operation Eilbote 2" on 31 January 1943. Disaster resulted because their French opponents had British help. Their lead Tiger was damaged by British guns and its armour penetrated, an ominous first for the African Tigers. This German diagram shows the places where the Tiger was hit on its side. The filled circles are penetrations.
