British soldier and Tiger 131

This photo was probably taken on 26 April 1943, when a newsreel crew visited "Point 174" in Tunisia. The hill was occupied by the 2nd Foresters of the 3rd Brigade, following a battle two days before. The Germans were still shelling the area, and as we can see, the camera crew took shelter in a trench.

Tiger 131 was sitting on this hill when the British captured it, just as we see in the photo. British soldiers remained here until the 3rd May, holding the hill and preventing recovery of the Tiger.
