Gruppe Lüder enters the Karachoum Gap

On 20 January 1943, Gruppe Lüder enters the Karachoum Pass on its way to attack British forces near Spikha. The leading halftrack is German-made; the following one was captured from the Americans. Many years later a road will be built here, destroying the tree. Another photo of Gruppe Lüder was taken here at the same time.
