Description
A Tiger's turret is suspended by a Fries crane during tank repairs. There is no obvious feature on this turret "black 113" to confirm that it's the old "white 113" turret. But there are photos from a later date proving that the mantlet type of this turret is a match, and both turrets have two pistol ports. We also know that the chassis of "white 113" eventually got a turret marked "black 113", presumably this turret, so it's very likely that this is the old "white 113".
Below the dangling turret we can glimpse Tiger "black 123" which was formerly "white 131". This is interesting because the suspended turret, "black 113", will sooner or later be given to that Tiger, replacing its own turret. We may be looking at the handover. This dangling turret can be seen, its number changed to "123", in a later photo of the other Tiger. The remnants of whitewash on the gun sleeve are an obvious match.
