Swapping turrets of Tigers 113 and 123

It seems that Tigers "113" and "123" of s.Pz.Abt.503 were badly damaged in battle, with "113" suffering damage to its hull, and "123" to its turret. Here we see both Tigers. The workshop is now swapping their turrets with a Fries crane, to yield one usable Tiger and one complete wreck. The wreck will be shipped back to Germany and the suspended turret will be renumbered so that Tiger "123" can retain its identity.

There is almost nothing to prove that this turret is the original "white 113". A patch of whitewash on a smoke launcher resembles that in another photo. Using several photographs we can prove that this turret has the same kind of mantlet as the old "white 113", and both have dual pistol ports; but a firm match cannot be made. However, remnants of whitewash on this gun sleeve are an obvious match to a a later photo of Tiger "123".
