Description

These troops are determinedly marching south on route C46 in Tunisia, miles from anywhere. Tiger 141 of s.Pz.Abt.501 is halted on the roadside, apparently having a track repaired, and is drawing many curious glances from the soldiers. This should be one of the two "Operation Eilbote" because no other mission in the unit's war diary would give the Tigers cause to be here.

The hills in the background have distinctive shapes that can be seen only from a 3km stretch of the C46, and there is no other road nearby. To get a more precise location, we can take advantage of the fact that the ditch lines up with a specific hill. On this stretch of road there is just a single curve where that happens, and because it's a curve, we can place the tank to within ten meters.
