Thumbnail image: Mantlet and cradle of Tiger 732

Description

The gun of an exploded Tiger (number 732) lies beside its hull in Tunisia in 1943. We are looking at the mantlet, which is a casting incorporating an armour shield and a drum. It sits beside the tank's hull, whose wheels have burnt. The cylindrical drum has 39cm diameter. A damaged metal frame is detaching from the drum; it is used for watertight sealing. There is another photo of Tiger 732's gun.
