Operation Eilbote : a Pz.3 climbs out of Oued Maarouf

It is 20 January 1943, during operation "Eilbote 1", and Kampfgruppe Lüder of s.Pz.Abt. 501, is advancing to the east towards Spikha. This Pz.3 is climbing out of Oued Maarouf at the Karachoum Gap. There is no road through the pass, and the tank has to climb a ridge. After this experiment, the Germans set about building an earthen ramp here.
