Description

This is the only known photo showing how the name "Alwin" was painted on Tiger 121's turret. Above that, almost invisible here, is the tiger symbol of the 501 battalion. Much easier to see is the light coloured paint (RAL 8020) on the turret bin. This paint has also been used to touch up areas of the turret. The date is 20 January 1943 and the Tiger has just climbed out of Oued Maarouf.
