Description
Tiger 121 is at the western entrance to the Karachoum Gap in Tunisia. It is part of Kampfgruppe Lüder during Operation "Eilbote". The veteran Uffz. Kempcke annotated this photo: "Nach gelungenem Durchbruch durch die Bergstellungen stossen die Pz. in zähem, nächtlichem Vormarsch über Spikha hinaus." (After successfully breaking through the mountain positions, the tanks make a tough night-time march beyond Spikha.) But in fact they turned back from Spikha and passed through here before making an overnight march to the south.
