Scale: 1 / 35
This manufacturer has released two Tiger kits already, but they were both in its comically distorted "Cute Tank" range. This kit is their first true scale Tiger model.
The kit provides link-and-length tracks, a turned metal barrel and PE cooling grilles. There is a large selection of decals. The parts count is low and there are practically no optional parts; it seems that the kit aims to be a simple build.
The version of Tiger built by the kit is from May 1943. Because of the lack of optional parts, this is a narrow window of time. A few details of the kit are inappropriate for this version: the rounded sprocket hubs; the sealed-up driver's episcope; and the rear mudflap type.
The kit's decal sheet generously provides decals for nine different Tigers. Unfortunately, not a single one of them is the same version of Tiger that the kit actually builds. For example, six of these Tigers did not have turret spare tracks; but the kit has track holders molded into its roof, difficult to remove. Another problem is that the real "S04" was a Befehlstiger, but the kit has no support for that variant.
The decals themselves have some errors; e.g. the digits "S04" and "S45", painted with the same template in the same style, have different colours and sizes here; the "devil" of Das Reich is not mirrored for the two sides of the turret; and the "213" digits, apparently for Otto Carius' original Tiger, are white instead of black.
