About this detail of the Tiger
This tank, like the first Tiger E, has two small holes above the driver's visor.
These holes were for an episcope, an optical device that allowed the driver to peer through the holes without getting close to them. The scope was carried on the Tiger and on earlier German tanks such as Pz.3 and Pz.4.
The German episcope was not a loose item; it was fixed to the inside hull roof. But this kit does not include an episcope. Its hull roof is bare and there is nothing attached to the inside of the holes.
