Main radio set

To the home page

A Command Tiger was the link between a Tiger unit and the Army or the Air Force. For this purpose it carried a long-range radio, either the Fu 8 or the Fu 7.

The long-range radio was in the forward hull, and there was another radio in the turret. That was the tank's ordinary Fu 5, linking it to the other Tigers of its unit.

In this model kit, Ustar have equipped the turret with its radio. They have also put a radio set in the hull.

Hull radio set in this kit

But the hull radio comprises the same parts that Ustar used in their previous Tiger kit. It's a Fu 5 radio. It's not the long-range radio set of a Command Tiger. It has a different size and a very different shape; the long-range set should have two boxes, but this part has three.

There is no easy way to convert this into a realistic looking part.
