This version of Tiger had a mechanism to lock the turret in place. This ensured it would not swing around during rail travel, etc.
This is the lock mechanism. It has a handle and a plunger, and it is attached to the underside of the hull roof.
The lock was attached to this welded plate, behind the driver.
When you remove the turret from a Tiger, the lock mechanism can be seen as you look into the hull, because it is so near to the turret opening. I have not yet modelled the lock, but in my model of the bare hull roof you can see the welded plate from outside; the entire lock mechanism would therefore be visible
This model kit does not include any of the features that I discussed. It does not provide the lock mechanism, nor the welded plate on the roof. There should also be a hole on the top surface of the roof, where the plunger emerges to meet the turret. That hole is not represented either.
