About this detail of the Tiger
Tigers were all fitted with a standard turret bin from January 1943 onwards. All "mid" and "late" Tigers carried this type of bin.
This diagram shows the bin. Its top face has a downward slant, so that it will not block the commander's view.
This is a genuine bin on a museum Tiger. White dotted lines have been drawn on the photo, marking the horizontal. We can see that the bottom surface of the bin is level, but the top surface has a significant slant.
The turret bin on Trumpeter's kit has a tiny slant, perhaps no slant at all. This is a photo of Trumpeter's part and we have drawn lines on it in the same way. You can see that the top surface is essentially level.
