About this detail of the Tiger
Although this kit purports to represent African Tigers of s.Pz.Abt.501, it reuses some parts from Tamiya's other Early Tiger kit which are not correct for this subject. The most significantly wrong part is the hull roof. Several corrections could be made.
This rectangular item on the left hull roof should be completely removed, as it was not present on any of the Tigers in this battalion.
These pairs of small rectangles (in three locations) should be removed completely.
These two small props on the engine hatch should be removed completely, without damaging the long handles just ahead of them.
At the right rear of the hull roof there is a tubular container that would contain spare antennae. Tamiya have placed it slightly forward of its correct position. As you can see here, the wide part should go to the rear, and it should overhang the back of the Tiger.
