Welded to the Tiger's deck were four clamps, two on each side, for holding the gun cleaning rod segments as well as the tow cables. In this photo of Takom's model, I have pointed out two of them.
In real Tigers, it seems that the factory workers were somewhat sloppy when placing these clamps, whose position isn't critical. Photos show them differing in position along the hull by a few centimeters, from one Tiger to the next.
Takom put their clamps at typical positions for a standard Tiger.
But Command Tigers were different. They had extra equipment on the hull roof. This is the right-hand side of a Command Tiger, and I have marked that equipment at [A]. The rearmost clamp, at [B], is about 20cm from it. To measure the positions of these items it is convenient to use the side skirt bolts at [C]. This clamp is directly above a pair of bolts.
Now, compare that to Takom's model. Their Command equipment is in approximately the correct place (it should be a little further to the left) but their clamp, as I point out, almost collides with it. The clamp is not directly above the pair of bolts as it should be.
Not only this clamp, but all four of the clamps on a Command Tiger were shifted forward 20cm from their usual position. Takom's kit is inaccurate in this respect. But the kit's clamps are molded into the hull roof and almost impossible to move.
