On each side of the Tiger's engine deck, there was a large air inlet grille [A] and behind it a solid panel [B] (this photo shows a museum's Sturmtiger).
Takom's kit has a dimensional problem in these items. When measured front to back, the grille [A] is too short, and the solid panel [B] is too long. The size of the problem can be seen in the mesh grid overlays; the real grid was 19 squares long, but Takom's grid is 17 squares long.
A rough comparison with a Hilary Doyle drawing is made here. The fuel filler caps at extreme left, and the hull rear wall at extreme right, are lined up. The kit's rear outlet grille matches the drawing quite well. But the kit's radiator filler, in the middle of the image, does not align with the drawing; and the shape of the kit's solid panel is obviously wrong.
This error also exists in the recent large-scale Tiger from Andy's Hobby HQ.
If this problem still exists when the plastic kit is finally manufactured, then I cannot imagine any practical way to fix it except to substitute a hull roof from another manufacturer's kit.
