This kit provides three "pots" on each side of the vehicle for launching smoke candles. Each launcher pot has two finger notches in its rim, to help with removal of smoke candles.
The pots are fixed to a base plate with protruding tabs. This diagram shows the plate, with dotted lines representing where the tabs were folded. The pots were aimed at 15, 30 and 45 degrees away from the side of the vehicle.
There is a feature of the pots that is perhaps not reproduced in this kit, but you can easily set it up yourself. It is their angle. Most kit designers assume that it is random, but the diagram of the base plate proves that it's not.
Thanks to the way they were attached, the pots always had their notches in a line. This CAD model is an example.
