About this detail of the Tiger
An unusual close-defence system was created in 1942 for the Tiger E. It was given the ability to launch antipersonnel S-mines. Revosys have provided the same system for this hypothetical "Panzer VI" which would have been completed in 1942.
The system comprised some launcher tubes bolted to the hull roof. They could each hold an S-mine which was fired electrically. This photo shows a launcher installed on a Pz.3.
At the back of the launcher tube there was a crossbar with a hole in it. The hole allowed you to push the mine's container out of the tube with your finger.
Revosys have tooled a fair representation of the S-mine launcher, with its electrical connectors and its bolts. But instead of a hole, they have put a solid rod at the back of their launchers.
