The first 28 (or so) Tigers were given rear mudflaps that didn't fold or hinge. They could be removed only by loosening some bolts and lifting them off.
Each rear mudflap had three stiffeners welded to it, and a hole was cut into each stiffener as shown here. This turned the stiffener into a handle, useful when lifting the mudflap off the tank.
In this kit, Rye Field provide the stiffeners in the form of separate PE parts, which gives them the appropriate thickness. Unfortunately the correct shape and the hole are not reproduced by Rye Field.
