About this detail of the Tiger

The interior parts provided in this kit are mostly correct for the subject Tiger ("112" / "724"), but there are some errors. The kit's designers apparently referred to later versions of Tiger.

Commander's handwheel in RM5050

In the left side of the turret, the kit's CAD image shows a gearbox. It has a handwheel, attached via two boxes, and a diagonal cover for its chain (parts J73, J55).

All of the parts marked on that image are wrong for this Tiger. You can improve accuracy by removing them.

Tiger with no commander's handwheel

The real gearbox in this Tiger was this type. It has nothing attached on top. You will have to carve the molded boxes away from part J13 to achieve this.

A handwheel was not installed in Tigers until the 2 company of s.Pz.Abt.501 were being issued tanks, therefore a handwheel exists in the surviving Tiger "712". But "712" is the 31st Tiger, while this kit supposedly builds the 12th Tiger.
