About this detail of the Tiger
The Rye Field Model kit "Bergepanzer Tiger 1" contains the crane that was carried by this unique Tiger. However, we don't have photographs of the crane assembled, so the parts in the kit are guesswork.
Rye Field assume that the crane hook has a single sheave. There is an item in one photo that appears to be a sheave, so this is a reasonable guess. Therefore the cable must be attached to the crane arm, and Rye Field provide a hook for this. The hook is not visible in any photograph, so this is guesswork.
The shape of the hook invented by Rye Field is not appropriate for its task. This hook is suitable for suspension from a cable; it curves around to place its load directly under its top. But this is not necessary for a hook that's rigidly attached. It is likely that the cable on the real vehicle had a very different attachment.
