About this detail of the Tiger
The turret of the Mid and Late Tiger had a lock. This is the lock in the Saumur Museum Tiger. Some of it is hidden under a storage bin.
The Tiger wreck at Snegiri has most parts missing. We can see the top of the turret lock; it is bolted to the turret ring.
This diagram is based on German original specifications. Notice that the bolts in the turret ring are evenly spaced, and the bolts in the lock are a part of the sequence.
The lock in Rye Field's turret is smaller than the real one, and its bolts are not part of the turret ring bolt sequence.
